Confirmed COVID-19 case

We have been informed that one of our exchange students from Spain has been diagnosed with COVID-19 on 14 March 2020. He reported onset of symptoms on 13 March 2020.

From our records, the last time he was at SMU campus was on 6 March 2020. He was overseas from 8 to 13 March 2020, and arrived back in Singapore on 14 March morning. He underwent a swab test upon arrival at Changi Airport and subsequently isolated himself in his flat, as advised, whilst waiting for results. Upon receiving his test results later on 14 March, he was conveyed to NCID and is in stable condition.

We hope that he will make a full recovery soon and in the meantime, we will extend any assistance and support that he might require.
